Decide what you want for YOUR fiddle

Bloodwood (clear varnish)

I've asked a few experts why a violin can't be made from "non-standard" woods. The few kind enough to answer (without laughing so hard that they fell off their chairs) said, "Because then it wouldn't be a violin".

So, if all else remains the same except for the wood choice, then why isn't a fiddle a violin? (...and vice versa?)

The paradigm is that Antonio Stradivari tweaked the violin to the point of near perfection.

>Why mess with it?

>Why go against the way it's always been done?

>Why break with "tradition"???

Why not?

If you'd like the opportunity to explore variety in color, tone AND select the wood to be used on your instrument, then we can work together!
